Client’s Story

Mr and Mrs Abbott’s old kitchen had seen better days, it was about 15 years old but looked older. The actual units were tired, drawers didn’t quite shut right and the worktops had been worked hard, and there just wasn’t enough worktop space for a growing family’s needs, they also needed more storage space. They also wanted the walls redone, they currently had colourful ‘70’s tiles, “Tile that hurt the eyes first thing in the morning” said Mrs Abbot. In essence, they needed a modern kitchen for modern times.

Solution

We redesigned the kitchen space, with sleek countertops and modern units, simply by repositioning the kitchen units we created more space even allowing us to fit in a dining Island with additional storage and a built-in wine rack. Simple techniques such as adding high gloss units generated enough reflective light to lighten the kitchen space. We created approximately 30% more storage than their old kitchen, by using space-saving technology and clever storage solutions. We even removed the old 70’s styled tiles and replaced them with sleek contemporary wall tiles that worked with the kitchen design.
